UX | UI design, interaction design, visual design, prototyping

TOOLS

Balsamiq, Marvel, Miro, Adobe XD

Members of the 2019 Nieman group have launched a platform for audio stories from around the world about how people are coping with the coronavirus pandemic. I was tasked to recreate the coronadiaries.io webpage into a mobile application.

OVERVIEW

PROBLEM

Coronadiaries.io has been a test product for an upcoming open source journalism tool. The site hopes to lay the groundwork for a scalable product that makes getting granular and high-level insights around global events easy, whether for artists, students, historians or journalists. As the site gets more and more data, The website needs help to find innovative ways to use it.

To provide people with an effective and new interactive experience to listen to, record, share and save stories for future documentation.

GOAL

STAGES

It's worth approaching the project step by step I started with in-depth User Research to empathize and learn about different users during the Pandemic. To get both quantitative and qualitative data.

SOLUTION

THE PROCESS

From my persona and interview, I've learned that many users don’t document their life through pen and paper anymore. Users preferred to share their stories through social media and it really helps them to connect with people in many different ways, like meeting new friends, advertising their work or connecting with family & friends.

KEY INSIGHTS FROM THE INTERVIEW

PERSONA

Following the above research, I collected all that I had learnt to formulate a persona. Within the persona, I identified the best scenario for my app.

SKETCHES & WIREFRAMES

I Have created about 40+ screens for Sketches & Wireframes to represent the app layout, the information architecture and the flow between the screens and it's functions.

LOW-FIDELITY PROTOTYPE

I used Balsamiq for my first low-fidelity

FINAL ITERATION

I used Adobe XD for the final prototype

RESULTS

KIROKU is a new app that can easily record users voice to share audio stories, it connects to other people around the world, and save it for future documentation. This mobile app will allow users to share stories from all major global events and I designed the user interface to have a fresh, transparent look consistent with latest trends.
